Fall Development Program (FDP) - Lebo Boys Academy

Fall Development League – Lebo Boys Academy

The Fall Development Program (FDP) offers great soccer education and organized play to those who are looking for affordable, low pressure, fun, professionally run, “in community” soccer.

Length of Season: Fall session starts the first week of September and runs 7 to 8 weeks towards the end of October (dependent upon weather makeups)

MLSA seeks to offer value that is close to home and less of a travel burden on families. The Fall development league is a great way to increase soccer skills and enjoyment of the game. This training program is for those who want to have serious fun while learning soccer skills!

Fall Season
Boys in 1st or 2nd grade.

TBD. Field addresses are here.

Includes one weekday practice (one hour long) and weekend morning or afternoon small-sided games (one hour long).   Most likely Tuesdays and Saturday will be the two days.

Practice will break into 3 parts:

  • Balls skills with a focus on maximizing total touches on the ball for each kid through change of direction, using both feet, seeing the field with your head up and receiving and passing the ball.
  • Offensive and attacking drills to build confidence, shooting technique and creativity in the scoring third of the field.
  • Scrimmage

Practice Day – At least 1 professional trainer should be available per session, but we will rely heavily on community volunteers, some with a high level of soccer experience and some with energy and enthusiasm for the game and athletics. Please refer to coaching responsibilities below and consider joining us for a lot of fun this fall.

Saturday Game Day – Each child will be assigned to a team for the season. Games will be played with a format consistent with age and the number of kids  (5 v 5 for 1
st and 2nd which includes a goalie). This will be an opportunity to get to put the skills training to work, learn the rules of the game and have fun competing. The season will close with a fun one-day tournament.

Equipment Needs: Size 3-4 ball (depending on age), shin guards and soccer cleats.

Volunteers Needed: Please consider joining us to help the kids build their fundamental skills, learn the rules of the game, and have fun. Coaches and assistant coaches will be relied on to work with the trainers to keep the team organized and follow the practice plan and to be there on Saturday for games to substitute players and help the kids stay focused.

Cost: $135
