Program Descriptions by Type and Season

The MLSA offers three types of leagues:

  • Recreational Leagues: We always play for fun, but with these programs, the focus is on making learning = fun, while picking up the skills and friendships that can last a lifetime. Many times teams are grouped by neighborhood to foster elementary school spirit. The goal is to keep players engaged and wanting more!

  • Development Center: Grounded in research-based best practices, these programs provide technical training so that players are equipped to play at the highest levels of their skillsets. Many are coached by our internationally recognized team of trainers from UK Trainers, whose goal is to provide "The best possible soccer experience to players, parents, coaches and organizations."

  • Competitive League: Our travel team was founded with just one team in 1970. It now includes over 20 teams, and plays some of the most competitive soccer in Western Pennsylvania, which itself is recognized as a top soccer area in the country. Our teams receive the benefit of UK Trainers with the community minded coaching spirit of our dedicated local coaches.
